AddAlong does not require an account. Meal notes, ingredients, dietary preferences, favourites, saved setups and history are stored on your device. Standard suggestions work offline. Device backups and copies you export or share may be handled by Apple or the destination you choose.
If you agree, your meal details, ingredients, dietary choices, practical limits and optional photo are sent through our service to OpenAI to create a suggestion. Photos are resized and location metadata is removed before upload. AddAlong does not save source photos or raw meal inputs on its server. Generated results are stored for 24 hours to recover retries; these may contain details from your request. OpenAI may retain API inputs for abuse monitoring.
Our service uses device verification, subscription verification and usage records to protect the service and track monthly allowances. These records and temporary results are held in our Upstash database. Opening the tailored feature checks your allowance; meal details and photos are sent only after you agree and request an idea.
Apple and RevenueCat process purchases, subscription access and restores. RevenueCat receives a generated app user identifier and purchase information for subscription functionality, fraud prevention and analytics. AddAlong does not send meal notes or dietary preferences to RevenueCat, request payment-card details or use an advertising identifier.
Sharing permission is remembered on this device. You can withdraw it in Settings → Privacy; future tailored requests will need a new agreement. Standard suggestions remain available. Settings lets you clear local data, which also resets sharing permission. Withdrawal does not recall information already sent. Clearing local data does not delete exported copies or provider records, reset server-side allowances, or cancel an Apple subscription.

Food images and the catalogue are bundled with the app; AddAlong does not contact Pexels or USDA during use. There are no advertising trackers. Optional reminders are scheduled locally with your permission. AddAlong does not track calories, macros or weight.
